The science of sleeping on your side

Side-sleeping is the position most experts recommend — but only when your body stays aligned. A pile of soft pillows lets your hips roll and your spine twist, which is why you wake up aching. Repose is engineered to hold you in a neutral, supported position all night.

Alignment

The full-body shape keeps your top leg from dragging your hips out of line and your top arm from collapsing your shoulder forward. Tuck it between your knees and along your spine and your hips, pelvis, and shoulders stack into a neutral line — the position that takes pressure off your joints. The adaptive fill lets you add or remove support until the loft is exactly right for your body.

Cooling

A big body pillow can sleep hot. Ours uses a breathable, moisture-wicking OEKO-TEX knit cover over an open-structure fill, so heat escapes instead of building up against you all night.

Pregnancy

During pregnancy, side-sleeping (often on the left) improves circulation to you and your baby. Repose supports your bump and lower back at the same time, so you can hold a comfortable side position without a tower of cushions — through every trimester.
